Indication
There are 2 indications for the TITAN-PORT F Prenatal Port System:
FETAL NUTRITION PORT-SYSTEM
AFR-PORT (Amniotic Fluid Replacement PORT-SYSTEM)
- Placental insufficiency with intrauterine growth restriction
- (IUGR = intrauterine growth restriction)
- PPROM = preterm premature rupture of membranes
Contraindication
posterior located placenta
Purpose
- improvement of fetal growth
- prolongation of pregnancy
Usage
long term administration of nutriments into the umbilical vein such as aminoacids and glucosis via the port system
Period
during 24-32nd week of gestation with IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction) estimated fetal weight <10th percentile, pathological Doppler ultrasound control findings
Placement
port implantation can be performed only in pregnant women with anterior or anterior-lateral located placenta
Duration
daily, volume of the intraumbilical infusion limited to 10% of the estimated feto-placental blood volume per day Technical data

preterm premature rupture of membranes with anhydramnions (PPROM)
Contraindication
- cervical insufficiency
- infection
- contractions
Purpose
- prolongation of pregnancy
- reduction of perinatal morbidity and mortality
Usage
long term amnioinfusion through a subcutaneously implanted portsystem
Period
between 22-30nd week of gestation with PPROM until delivery to replace the loss of fluids
Placement
ultrasound guided placement of catheter in the amniotic cavity
Duration
continuous infusion of 50-100ml/h saline solution via portsystem Port Needles
