The portsystem is intended for use in the administration of fluids, drugs as well as blood sampling .The use of special port needles is mandatory.

This portcathetersystem in combination with SFN port needle code 1320 S (20G, 1,3mm x 20 mm) is also indicated for power injection of radiopaque material into the vascular blood system.

The system is appropriate to a maximum flow of 5ml/sec at maximum pressure of 300 PSI/21bar.

The warnings and cautions indicated in the general instructions for portsystems and portneedles must be regarded and are mentioned again. See below:

• power injection not unless flushing of the system and blood return is confirmed (aspiration, manual injection). In case of any doubt injection should be avoided.
• the contrast media should be warmed prior to injection following the instructions of manufacturer (to body temperature)
• vigorously flush the system using a 10 ml syringe and sterile saline prior and immediately after injection.
• qualified healthcare practitioners undertake indication and full responsibility for appropriateness in procedure with the patient
• do not use if the presence of a device-related infection, bacteremia or septicaemia is known or suspected.
